A voice that moves beyond genres

Soulful depth. Classical roots. An independent spirit.

Lawrence Beamen is a classically trained bass-baritone, recording artist and songwriter whose work moves between gospel, spirituals, classical repertoire, soul, R&B and dance.

Raised singing in church, Lawrence brought his distinctive voice to NBC’s America’s Got Talent in 2009. His catalogue reflects that range: from He Didn’t Cry for Mercy and ANCESTORS to Sacred Love and the dance-forward Sexy Dress.

As the first artist and founder of Shut Up And Dribble Records, Lawrence is building a home for voices that refuse to be silenced.
